Nokia WiFi Beacon 6: specs and speed limits
The Nokia WiFi Beacon 6 is a Wi-Fi 6 mesh unit. Many fiber providers supply it to customers. This page lists its specs from Nokia's product page and its FCC filing (FCC ID 2ADZRHA0336GA).
Specs
| Spec | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi class | AX4200 | Nokia |
| Wi-Fi generation | Wi-Fi 6 (computed: from the AX class prefix) | Nokia |
| Bands | 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz; no 6 GHz | FCC grant; Nokia |
| 2.4 GHz streams | 2x2 MIMO | Nokia |
| 5 GHz streams | 2x2 MIMO on 5.2 GHz + 4x4 MIMO on 5.8 GHz | Nokia |
| 2.4 GHz channel widths | 20/40 MHz | FCC 2.4 GHz report p5 |
| 5 GHz channel widths | 20/40/80 MHz | FCC DFS report p5 |
| WAN port | One 10/100/1000 Base-T, RJ-45 | Nokia |
| LAN ports | Two 10/100/1000 Base-T, RJ-45 | Nokia |
| Coverage (maker claim) | up to 185 m² (2000 sq. ft) per unit | Nokia |
| Backhaul | Ethernet or Wi-Fi (shared, not a dedicated radio; computed from maker wording) | Nokia |
| Wireless backhaul band | not yet sourced | — |
| Maximum backhaul rate | not yet sourced | — |
| 5 GHz conducted output, 5180–5240 MHz | 0.676 W (28.3 dBm, computed from W) | FCC grant |
Antenna gain (FCC filing)
| Band | Gain (dBi) |
|---|---|
| 2.4 GHz | Ant1 2.97 / Ant2 3.54 |
| 5 GHz, 5180–5240 MHz | Ant1 4.66 / Ant2 3.63 |
| 5 GHz, 5260–5320 MHz | Ant1 3.87 / Ant2 2.99 |
| 5 GHz, 5500–5720 MHz | Ant3–6: 3.62 / 1.57 / 2.14 / 2.78 |
| 5 GHz, 5745–5825 MHz | Ant3–6: 1.72 / 1.5 / 1.36 / 2.07 |

The 4-antenna set covers 5500–5825 MHz and the 2-antenna set covers 5180–5320 MHz. This matches Nokia's 4x4 at 5.8 GHz and 2x2 at 5.2 GHz (computed: our reading of the two sources together).
Note: Nokia page conflict
Nokia's feature list says "4x4 MIMO on 5.8 GHz", but the same page's spec list says "802.11a/n/ac/ax 5.2 GHz: 4x4 MIMO" (listed twice as 5.2 GHz). We use the feature list and flag the conflict (Nokia, read 2026-10-31). The page says backhaul "can be Ethernet cable/Wi-Fi" but names no backhaul band or rate.
What this means for speed
- The WAN port is 1 Gb/s, so the most TCP data the Beacon 6 can pass from your provider is about 949 Mb/s (computed, RFC 6349 §4.1.1). A plan faster than 1 Gig is capped by this port.
- The 5 GHz radio tops out at 80 MHz per the FCC filing. A phone that supports 160 MHz still links at 80 MHz here.
